  1. I’m not much of a fan of driving, either. I used to love it when I was a kid, but now it’s just a chore. It’s particularly challenging for me after dark. I hope the celebration of your parents’ 60th was great and made the driving through flooded streets and bad weather worth it.

    • Missing their 60th would be in the unforgivable tier. They enjoyed themselves and that is what counts.

Lots of flooded areas and mud slides to occupy us getting there.

  2. Hope you enjoyed the dinner and the ride wasn’t too bad. I used to love driving, now not so much — too tiring. I visited your area once, and I remember the beauty of it. Maybe someday I’ll get back there.

    • The ride was crazy and humorous too. We got lost big time due to road closure. The countryside views were beautiful when the clouds parted. I hope you get back here again then you can change once to twice LOL

  3. Yikes — waving the magic wand for concentration, decent weather, and a cool head and feet.

I generally don’t drive much further than, umm, three to four miles anymore and then only on my known routes. Glad you’ll have Mikey with you. Hope it’s a nice celebration of your parent’s 60th! And, at the very least, if the family dynamics are bad, hoping you get some smashing good food!

    • I think we are going to have to admit that the magic wand is a bust ha ha . … or we are not clicking our heals together right?

      • Oh, I’m supposed to be clicking my heels too while waving the wand? No wonder. Guess I should take off my slippers for the occasion. However, since I don’t own any high heeled or red shoes, my maroon clogs will have to suffice.

Hope the dinner was nice in spite of the rough trip.

        • I think we are on to the problem. No red shoes! I might be able scrounge up a pair of old red converses?

I see no problem with clogs – must be maroon not red causing the interference. The sun did pop in and out here today.

  4. Yikes, driving over two hours in potentially lousy weather conditions does not sound like much fun to me. I’m glad you had company for the ride. Hopefully dinner was served early enough so you could get started back before dark. Or was that even considered? Ah, families. I really hope your ON wasn’t acting up. In any case I can’t wait to hear all about it!

    • It took over 3 hours, weather sucked until the last few miles, got home after dark, and yeah families . … my left eye was bad but the right hung in there.

More later in a new post.
