Pat Roberstson- Stuck in the Old Testament

Just because a person claims to be, a Christian does not mean they follow the teachings of Christ. Christians theoretically follow the teachings of Christ. Pat Robertson seems to be stuck in the First Covenant between God and man. The Second Covenant, The New Testament, does not seem to support his comments. The word “testament” means “agreement”, God establishes a “New Agreement” with us through Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament, those who waged war in God’s name were called His children, but now those who wage peace are His children.

However, some rebel and protest the part of our “New Agreement” with God over turning the other cheek and allowing us to be wronged. “You have heard it said, “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.” “But I say to you, do not resist him who is evil, but whoever slaps you on the right cheek turn to him the other also. (Matthew 5:38)
Pat Robertson’s latest comments regarding Ariel Sharon are not in keeping with the New Testament.

“If you do not forgive those who sin against you,” Jesus said, “your Father will not forgive your sins” Matthew 6:15.

“Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone hits you on the cheek, offer them the other cheek. If someone takes your cloak, don’t stop him taking your tunic. Give to everyone who begs, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. After all, if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them” Luke 6:27-32.

These were just some of my silly thoughts on the subject today. I am betting that the news commentaries, bloggers and personal web sites will go on and on about this for quit sometime. . .

After the storm

In a storm all it takes is one wrong choice and your in deep doo doo. This week has provided many examples of this. What was she thinking?

Rescue from flooded Rd.

Along with the rescue scenes we always find a picture of a familiar place that is is going under. Slough House always gets flooding, but, this is a little more than usual:

Slough House Inn

Up the road the scene is similar to what we experienced in 1997(yr?) in front of our home.

down the street a bit

With initial damage estimates from the weekend storms at $100 million, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency in Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Napa, Sacramento, Sonoma, and Trinity counties.

Hopefully, with New Orleans in their minds, and the present levee breaks around the Sacramento area, our government representatives and the voting public will support funding levee repairs and upgrades.

Religion and Spiritual

It’s not necessary for you to tell people that your religion is, as long as you are happy with who you are, it should not matter. It would be like yelling out that you’re straight. But, If you want to discuss things of the spiritual nature, post here.

  • Baha’i
  • Buddhism
  • Christianity

Please post any you feel should be added to the list. I listed the major twelve usually studied and often included in world studies.

Rain and Sandbags

I found a nice 3 column template at . I have given up designing my own using dreamweaver for the time being.
The weather has been rather gloomy with lots of rain and fog. The dogs are getting restless, I am getting restless, and the poor motorcycle looks pathetic setting outside covered up in the rain. Flood and wind warnings have been issued . . .

It is reassuring to note that we have a sandbag pickup station for our area this time.
