Once again we are at the “bored” stage! So many of you know this means – oh no! another silly video.
I have been staying up late at night because it is cool enough that I can actually do something other than sit in a tub of cool water.ย My mind wanders off on tangents and then somewhere along one of them it comes up with some ideas.
Ok, I admit that most of you probably do not look at an empty soda bottle sitting on your desk and think how cool would it be to make a video where I am in the bottle?ย But, as you will see in the video, my mind does go there.
The video is only ~30 seconds but it took me most of the week to complete. My brain had an idea that turned out not to be so easy to accomplish. I will not bore you with all the details on how I finally did it but I wish you to notice that the reflections on the front of the bottle are in front of me while the ones on the backside of the bottle are behind me. Also, if I thought it through a bit before venturing in all gung ho I would not have placed the bottle on a reflective surface.ย I had the whole video completed and realized ugh oh the empty bottle is showing in the desk top glass but I in the bottle am not. Redo!
This project sure had me digging into the video software and I discovered a few new tricks along the learning path.
I will admit that I did settle with the sounds not being so great but hey days into this it got – well . … so I dubbed in the voice and thumps best I could thump at a time, added some background music and called it done.ย A little green screen here, a bottle thunk there, and a reflection or two later I am

That is very cool indeed, at times I feel that if I lived in a bottle nothing could hurt me, but then nothing could touch me either. Thanks for the visual affect to reinforce the fact that I prefer reality.
kmilyun
That is a very true. I guess I like using fantasy and/or illusion to express myself.
Living in the here and now is not always super fantastic but it beats the alternative.
Hope you stop by again!

Impressive! And, quite the metaphor for one’s predicament especially with the head-bonking.
kmilyun
I was not sure if the logic behind the idea would get across – seems it did ๐ .
Feeling trapped in more way than one I suppose. I did find the magic wand and escape the bottle. Is that the fantasy or the reality?

Donna
I think Webster and Sherri have posed some interesting ideas — the bottle falling over and such. Not that I have a desire to see you get all beat up.
However, if you continue the metaphor — there’s the trapped aspect, the third-party bureaucracies pull the rug out from under us (or knock our bottle over) from time to time, us either flailing to regain control / contemplating what to do / or some combo or other reaction.
Just saying, if you’re really bored… ๐
Gotta say it again, am really impressed.
kmilyun
I will think about it but seriously I am not so sure I would be able to accomplish the bottle falling over etc.. and if I could wow talk about a tedious bit of work!
The trapped aspect is all encompassing – pun intended.

Oh yeah, even though I don’t drink anymore (meds and such), I do like Karen’s idea — swimming around in some Cabernet!
kmilyun
Bring your snorkel! Says the non drinker here (me). But yeah sounds fun.
sherri
wow! you did it!! the reflections on the table top too… i’m so glad the bottle didn’t fall over with you in it ๐
kmilyun
Ha! If the bottle fell down I would roll away, get dizzy, and gosh talk about reflection and sound problems galore!
kmilyun
See what you started! I think you should do the fall over in the bottle part in your own vid
๐ ๐ bra hahahhah
sherri
hahaha there is NO WAY i could do this sort of video… at least not now… maybe in a year or so after many many trial and errors ha
webster
Impressive! and what Donna said – an apt metaphor for all of us.
Next video maybe you could knock the bottle over, get down on hands and knees, and stick you head out of the top… LOL j/k.
kmilyun
I fall over enough in reality LOL! Although, it would have been more metaphorically correct.
Karen
Pretty cool Jan! I think I would rather be stuck in a wine bottle though…half full ; )
kmilyun
Half full would be advisable so you did not drown. Then again I guess if it were 3/4 you would have more to enjoy.

Too cute. I had to call my hubby in the room once again. The first thing he noticed was the number of visitors you have! Men, go figure?
kmilyun
well I hope the video brought giggles . …
Let hubby know it is quality not quantity and I know that all my visitors are quality ones ๐
Did you shoot any video at Essence?
