  1. Thank you, Jan! What a nice shout-out. But holy crapoli, you had your share of troubles! Ouchie to the UTI — never had one, but my mother gets a lot. Then the scary ride! I don’t know the highway of which you spoke, but we have our own killer roads here, and too many folks have been hurt or worse, getting out of their cars. What’s a ‘leaf spring?’ Loved the part about the doggies — not your hand,of course, but the treats and cuddles.

    Peace,
    Muff

    • Ok bad photo but picture is better than trying to explain what the heck a leaf spring is.

click to get larger and the arrow points to the spring on my truck

I enjoy your posts so keep it up!

Doggie cuddles are always a good thing!

      • I’m laughing here — I have noooo idea what’s under a car or truck! Thank you for taking the time to explain to me. I did click to enlarge and still said “Huh?” What I know about mechanics would fit on the head of a pin!

        • Well all you really need to know is if someone tells you yours has decided to part company with your vehicle it probably is not a good thing and they are not fun to replace.

  2. Thanks for the link, Jan. I got a lot of traffic drive by’s. lol

P.S. you should have seen my first draft. It was horrible! But I figured that if I was going to write about it, I might at least try to do it well. I think I got my main points across. Hope I didn’t scare too many newbies!

As for your UTI- Glad you’re getting over it. Have you tried cranberry capsules to acidify things? Pure cranberry juice tastes nasty. Very sour. Cranberry juice cocktails don’t have enough cranberry juice in them to do much.

So what you’re left with, of course, is to drink more water.
Oh, I just crack myself up!

    • You did great! not an easy subject to write about.

Oh yeah the pure cranberry juice is sour. I was drinking and taking cranberry pills at the time. One of those well now what the heck went wrong here deals.

My doc said it was possible the swimming in the cold arse weather in a warm pool and not getting dried off fast could have contributed. I asked after a couple of other MSr’s said they got UTI’s after swimming in chlorinated water.

I am thinking spring break (I was not as active) and I did not drink enough water.

and you crack me up sometimes

  3. I hate UTI’s almost more than I hate marshmallows which is saying a lot. LOL.

    Webster cracks me up!

I hope you get to feeling better soon!

  4. Marsh-mellows? I like em when made into those rice crispy treats. Now when they are in the form of those Easter ducks oh yeah peeps – I shout yuk. Ok I hate UTI’s almost more than soup served with fish eyes staring at me or octopus atop rice – and that is saying a lot. Basically any so called foods that stare at me.

I am feeling way better today – whew.

I am sure Webster will find something humorous or snarky to say here 🙂

      Here’s lookin’ at you, kid.

Speaking of Peeps, you must check out Peepsresearch.com . It’s a very scientific study about those little chicks. You’ll love it.

UTI, breakdown on Lolo during rush-hour while being a crash test dummy (always laugh at that), and a smashed hand. So, what else do you do for fun? :0

About the UTI, I think chlorine from the pool could be the culprit. When I did lap swimming regularly, I took a cranactin every day for preventative measure. It seemed to help. I also had a swim instructor who wouldn’t get in the pool when she was pregnant for fear of a UTI and having to take antibiotics. She said it was pretty accepted amongst the female instructors and swim team that chlorine was evil to women for that reason.

Well, on that note I’ll sign out and say have a nice evening! 🙂

  6. yes I took the information to heart and asked my PCP she agreed. I like to swim but I am more afeared (i know not a word) of another UTI so it is not on my list of classes to take next semester. We shall see . …

And I am telling you the leaf spring adventure was a bit much LOL but it is the first time the big red truck has let us down so I guess it is what it is. But dang it I sure hope it never happens again!

    • Donna

The truck adventure sounded scary. I used to commute across 520 between Seattle and Bellevue — it’s an old floating bridge with no shoulder. So, a flat tire or break down would back up traffic for miles. I had my ancient Corolla then and sometimes feared being featured on the news as the culprit who did so!

Thanks for the the pic of the leaf spring. I too was wondering what that was.

As someone who like swimming, darn. Hope you can work something out.

      • I am hoping that swimming will not be the culprit but right now I am too chicken to find out :0 Maybe this summer I will give it a go at a friends pool that I can use any day I wish – with a box of home self test kits on hand that is.

Yes with all the traffic cams and helicopters it would be hard to deny and embarrassing as heck.
