As planed I made it out today. After PE Bat Bike and I got reacquainted. Ok, I made it around the complex and then took off for my first ride since multiple sclerosis came into my life. Gosh riding is so much easier than walking. I never would have made the distance I did on the bike if I were on foot. MS Monster take that and well . …
Wore me out but so worth it.
Riding is so much easier than walking and I peddled through the neighborhood and got myself places I have not gone in a long time on my own steam. I just hope that no more MS surprised hit for awhile!!
Can be said that a video saves a thousand words. Excuse the shaky ride video but I just kind of sort of stuck the camera on the handle bars. But I went for the I did it here is the proof factor over good video technique.
Here is my vid :

Sweet! However, I thought you were just riding to the corner and back not in with freaking traffic? Ok, ok, I’ll chill. Good luck clipping in, or rather, clicking out quickly if needed!

-well after I got going -I so do not know what possessed me to detour – and the video was not the first go around I did not have the camera out when I did those runs. That is the benefit of video LOL you get to delete all the bloopers. Like holding on to the pine tree to get on the bike a few times 🙂
What happened was after I decided to ride around the neighborhood I sort of got lost and when I found my way out to somewhere I recognized it was that semi-busy parkway.
I also did not show where I crashed into our garbage can – it was suppose to be a positive video ha ha sides I so do not like sharing my embarrassing moments – but I assure you they were there.
The beauty of video editing!

Ending with a crash into your garbage can would have been LOL funny, so long as you were not hurt. Riding in traffic? Damned scary, if you ask me, especially knowing it was your first ride post MS.
All in all, it looked like fun, and a great way to get some exercise, until it gets too hot. Maybe then you could do it while wearing a cooling vest. They look like a flak jacket (how appropriate, huh?). Check out the MSAA based in Florida to see if you can get one free. I got one from the NMSS, and a couple years later one from MSAA, because it never hurts to have an extra set of ice packs on really hot days.
Fun video.

It was kind of funny thank goodness it had just been dumped – the trash that is.
I will look into the vest!
