Why a Harley Davidson?
Many of my friends ask why did you get a Harley. Usually followed up by statements suggesting I wanted the badass image or I wanted to impress someone. The truth is: I purchased a Harley because of its lower seat height. I am getting older and after a little over 28 years of riding no longer choose to ride a machine that does not allow me to place both feet and the ground when at a stop.
I love metric sport bikes but the larger cc models have higher seat heights. The manufactures of sport bikes need to recognize that I am not going to grow taller and design a bike that accommodates me. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, the average height for an adult female in the United States is: 63.7 inches (5 feet 3.7 inches).
Until the seat heights come down to my level, I am a Harley convert.
