That photo of the Cairo is amazing. My friend from S. Illinois, who grew up near the Ohio River, says the local pronunciation of Cairo is Kay-ro. Interesting.
Kay-ro is correct alright. I took some pictures of the actual Cairo while visiting Vicksburg. The exhibit was very well done. I am looking over the pictures of her sister ships trying to get an idea of how to run the rigging. This is my first attempt at a wood model and also my first ship model. My attempt has gone better than I expected but not exactly a master piece LOL

I would be glad as long as you promise not to laugh. I have not done much more to it as I have been trying to plank the hull on my new model.
I hope I do better on my next model. The scale is off on the Cairo. I still need to do a re paint and touch up and finish the rigging.
I will try and take pictures this evening and get them resized and posted. I have a dog park committee meeting this evening. So, I might not get to it till late tonight or tommorrow.
