Each year that passes seems to bring new challenges. Lately, the obvious we “ain’t getting younger” theme seems to be major star.
In the late 70’s I was a wild child, finding myself many sheet to the wind some nights. I would make my way to the mini market/gas station around the corner and entertain and be entertained by the night clerk. We discussed, family, friends, what an a hole her husband was, how horrid the price of gas was (.45 cents), how silly someones car looked, all the usual stuff of mindless time passing conversation. Days turned into years and I have not seen or heard of her in over 30 – wow thirty dang years since I stood in that store!
Four years ago our friends pulled up next to us as we were heading out for a night of fishing. Riding shotgun in their truck was a woman that looked familiar. I just could not place the face. Oh my goodness! it was her!
Now four years later she just had a double by pass a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday she was rushed back to hospital – one of the bypass things had colapsed – they put a shunt in and we are all hoping for the best. Here we are more carefree times – left to right . . .. after our last salmon fishing trip.
A bypass, MS Diagnosis, and a hip replacement later . .. we need to take another picture
