One 21 pound turkey ready to go in the oven on Thursday night. KRP cooked it up along with making gravy and mashed potato’s for our support groups Christmas Party on Friday. The party was fun and there were about 35 or so peeps in attendance. I had a good time even though the volunteer valet parker parked my truck about as far away from the club house where the party was held as possible and I ended up walking in the rain to retrieve it so I could load up the pans to take home.
I decided since he was enjoying his chance to down some of the good grub that I would get my truck myself so dont think it was a bad thing it just was I did not expect it to be such a long ways away LOL I actually enjoyed the hike in the rain just wish it had been a tad closer ha. Such is life now a few blocks walk is a hike geeze . …
Some of the gals I have met in the group have been taking an Adaptive PE course at the local Community College and took me along to the Holiday Party for all the Adaptive PE classes students. It was crazy so many folks going every which way but loose, lots of stuff going on, well .. I was thrown into sensory overload! Way to much way to fast going on around me so I kind of missed out on a lot of what was going on around me.
I did get the catalog with the College course descriptions etc, the form the Doctor has to fill out, and the schedule and managed to get them all home to look at. The class sounds like something that I could really use since they evaluate physical capibilities on an individual bases and then I would set my own goals but I am not sure if I want to commit to going four days a week for the whole semester. I have not made any long term commitments in the past few years and am sort of chicken to do so. Then again having to go somewhere everyday might be a good motivator to stave off the winter doldrums and do I ever know that this wacky body of mine sure could use some help.
I went online and found my student ID, updated my info ( just the email has changed ) so I have to wait until the system decides I am allowed to register for any classes. Maybe I will go with KRP and do it in person this afternoon if I don’t change my mind again.
It was kind of fun looking over the classes I have taken via the Los Rios Community College system. I figured out that i with my catalog rights (where when you start towards a degree you are guaranteed the requirements will be applicaple that were in effect when you started) I actually have earned a AA or AS is Math Science and Engineering here ummm … wonder what I would have if I transferred all my units from everywhere to Sac State LOL no fun in that . ..cause to get the four year from them I would have to take a foreign language again and now days coherent use of English is pot luck. Sides then I would have to transfer some of my units where I got a dang C in Chemistry (5 units worth because I missed the final) and that would like throw my GPA down to 3.7 something gasp and well my turkey ego is – well it is what it is – LOL
See how wacky my thinking is? I never apply for the degrees earned and then I don’t transfer units – the end result is lots of units and no degrees LOL LOL well I do have certificates of completion from here and there . …
Well maybe I will sign up for the short bus PE class?
Yes this is the wrapper from my burger tonight, not just any wrapper but the wrapper from the first Whopper that I have eaten in over 17 years!
Gosh I have not a clue as to why O why I decided to break down and eat one. Seriously it has been well over 17 years since I have eaten a Whopper or a Big Mac. The Whopper won out tonight.
All I can say is YUM – well as yummy as junk food can get that is.
So I might just save this wrapper. When did they change from the old style with the orangish looking logo on them?
Obviously it has been awhile since I have posted something . …
Lots of stuff has been going on,
At the end of November we hit the gas and headed to San Jose where we watched Ryan’s football team (The Carson Senators) play in the leagues playoffs. The kids were awesome and I must say compared to many of the little buggers running around the hotel very well behaved.
They lost their game but I have lots of pictures that show them playing the hearts out against a team of much larger boys possessing greater skills . Almost looked like the midgets v the giants LOL.
Then as soon as the game was over we high tailed it to Marysville as their Aunt had taken a turn for the worse. I spend the first part to the week driving back and forth getting Trish to the hospital to stay with Betty and the family. Sadly, Wednesday at 3:30 pm Betty left this earth. She did so with her family by her side at home.
Thanksgiving I spent the day at my folks house, stuffed my face, and had a good time. Saturday we celebrated Thanksgiving again with our friends – it was Alex’s first Turkey day!
Tuesday I attended the funeral.
This weekend I attended the Christmas party held for a group of the EX Tent City residents. My job of the day was to take lots of photos. Many of the fantastic folks are only months off the streets and into housing. Some have new jobs, some are starting school, and some of them are learning how to deal with living in a house again – one they can call their own. For most of them the photos I took are the first pics of themselves taken in year – it kind of was a bit stressing for me knowing that as I wanted to get great shots for them.
Anyways, now I am working on getting stuff together for our MS support groups Christmas Party. KRP is cooking the turkey but I get to do the rest AUGH!
Now your all caught up on what has been going on,
