Ever wonder what would happen if you just installed wordpress mu and braved it out without backing up anything? AN ADVENTURE 🙂
After reading over the MU version install instructions – not worth it for me to find out if my host server supports all the rewrite crap! and really not worth my time to bother for no reason other than I tought it would be fun LOL
I did that last night and basically it didn’t wipe out my wordpress install. What it did do was make it next to impossible to install MU.
If you have wordpress installed in a subdirectory you won’t wipe it out, because MU wants to only be installed in the root directory.
I’m still waiting for the subdomain to register in DNS, BTW….

Wow. I’ve been busy since I got back from a trip earlier this month. I had a hard time reading your site for a while because of the background (?) but I assumed you would get it back in shape. I was right.

Glad you like the new version. I am in a simple is better mode right now. To keep my need to play mode happy I just started a test blog where the kid in me can play away with the css.
I had to log- on the other day from a friends computer and realized how long it took to download and how cluttered the screen looked. I tend to forget that everyone does not have a bells and whistles computer or fast connections.
I managed to get the feeds working again also.

I think I will leave it be. How come you have to wait? I am confused .. as usual. You can not make your own subdomain’s? Or are you meaning virtual subs?
I can set up the subdomains but it takes 24 hours for them to register in DNS. AND…I need to move one domain from the current host to the new one, which should have been much easier than it’s proving to be. I’m working on it, though. SIGH.
I get it now. Nothing is ever “easy” when the computers are involved. Add some homo-sapiens into the mix and stir :). Not always a good combo. Ever though about what would happen if artificial intellgence actually became something like Johhny Five Alive from the movie short Curcuit? or IRobot? They would think, act, and imitate a living being – but they would have no soul.
I guess talking to the dsl modem is not going to help much 🙂
