Now that I can assemble and unassembled the pontoon boats the customizing begins. Note neither has seen water yet :).
The trolling motor set up and adjustments have to be made – in water. Did you know that the State of California DMV states that any boat that floats with a motor has to be registered? Em – just give em your bill of sale etc. Ok the sales slip from the sporting goods store? Then the regulations state that you have to put the hull numbers on – ok a bit much don’t ya think for an inflatable boat/raft? If you were to call DMV you get two answers – yes you have to register it and NO you do not have to since it’s primary mode of motion is Oars and fins. So – do I register the thing or not?
At least it makes no mention of having to insure it. Now that would really be stupid – insurance on a rubber raft just in case I get hit by some drunk or someone else … I still have not seen a reimbursement for my deductible from when my truck was rear ended – the other two parties are apparently still going back and forth as to who should pay my insurance back. But that is another story.
How to set up a fish finder transponder on a inflatable
pontoon boat presents another problem. I am thinking something utilizing PVC pipe and spring mounted.
I did get the battery box mounted secure to the rear basket today.
Wah wah boo hoo I just want to go play in dah lake.
Not that this is some great big deal but I added a Favicon. So look up and see if it shows up in your navigation bar.
New additions to the ever growing clutter:
A Water Skeeter Freedom and a Red Water Skeeter Chetco pictured above.
Both are assembled. Now partly disassembled so they fit in the corner of the livng room – yeah – great place- but we have no garage. The Chetco has a trolling motor to be mounted. I am deciding on battery placement etc. The Freedom can be towed to far away spots and then both will be oared – row row row – The Freedom allows for the use of fins also. My Chetco has a floor yipee!
Will take pictures when they take their maiden voyage.
