Yes! the new oven/range is finally here, and installed, and it works, and it is way cool to be able to cook again in something other than a crock pot or electric skillet.
.
The new stove has the control knobs in front. It is so much easier to adjust the temperature with out having to reach across a hot pot/ The old stove top’s knobs were located on the left and sometimes I would hit the top of the hot pot or skillet when reaching for them.
.
Tonight I made a dish my mom usually serves Christmas morning. Yum. Having been without the stove it’s arrival felt like Christmas. And, the bill will come next month – just like Christmas LOL. Well, this is a crummy photo but here it is:

Details, girl, we want details. What was the first meal prepared on your virgin stove?

A sort of casserole that is made with creamed corn, corn bread, chopped onions, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. Baked till golden.
Chicken breasts d-boned, hammered till 1/4 inch thick, and quick browned in skillet, covered with white herb sauce, cheddar cheese again of course, sliced green onions, and baked till done.
Pearl 0nions and green peas. Just had to have a healthy item – cooked on stove top.
Oink!
Pop corn latter for dessert cause I did not have any chocolate to make dessert. Since the chicken and corn dish are cooked at different temps I reheated the chicken in the microwave.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to pay the credit card off!!! AUGH But, I so could not do the no stove thing any longer – it is way to limiting.

Congrats in getting the new stove in place. BTW, that’s a lot of corn in the Christmas meal. Sounds very tasty.

err… that was corny … LOL
Having a stove that works is great. If someone had asked me 10 years ago – I would have not believed how excited I am about getting one.
Is that a sign of age? Cause I sure am not mature hee hee
