One of the biggest blocks I have is admitting when I just might need help. Or, more like it not being so stubborn and taking people up on offers.
.
All was rolling right along with the kitchen job. I had my little electric sander out and was slowley making progress when all of a sudden – the sandpaper just went flying. Rather odd since it is attached via a hook and loop system. Then all this black rubber started flinging before my brain could react and turn the sander off. T goes what the heck is all that black stuff. Well the dang sander head split in half and the sander was useless, dead, kaput. So off the the store to but a new one.
.
Back in business again. T helped me climb up on top of the refrigerator to edge in the cup boards. As I was coming down I leaned on the edge of one of the cupboards and as I was stepping down I heard a noise and T went OH NO your shi%^ing me! I turned around in time to see her grab the stove hood as it came crashing down. What the?? She got it before it hit the stove top. I guess the movement in the cup board caused it to give up it’s last hold. Ok.
.
Now her we are hood in hand trying to get it remounted. R was at work but M our roommate was home. So now I, T, and M tried for what seemed like hours to line the hood up, hold it up and re place all the attachment screws. It was futile as we were not coordinated or strong enough or whatever ‘s. This used to be an easy job, I have done it several times. Well I guess 10 years ago I must have biffed it as it feel but come on?
.
My normal mode would be to fuss with it until it was done. Stubborn arse that I can be. But I thought it over and yep, I actually picked up the phone and called over to my friends house and asked for a home delivery of two macho men. Said men came over ever so cute with their can of misc. screws and washers, tools, and in 15 mins had the hood reinstalled and attached securely. Way cool.
.
When my other half go home I heard oh my you actually called for help? That is a first. What’s going on here – you let me drive in SF, you agreed to let BW fix stuff when he comes back to get T – your letting T help sand and paint – whoa it is about time you let someone else help.
.
The two macho men went home and bragged to their wife and mom about saving the day. She said it made their day. And T is excited to be turning my out of date old school kitchen into an apple themed wonder LOL. I will post pics when it is done.
.
Me I am just thinking how cool it was to not have to do it all myself and realizing that as I used to get that feel good thing from helping others out when I was able, others get it helping too. So, I guess letting the macho duo as I call them is not a defeat.
.
So this weekend BW is coming to take T back to Nevada AND weld the front security screen, replace the bathroom exhaust fan, and install the safety bars in the bathroom tub.

Oh, that’s so excellent. Thank goodness you didn’t ‘kill’ yourself with all of that commotion, too.
You feel good. They feel good. You get your kitchen (and other housely items) upgraded.
Can’t wait to see pictures!!
(P.S. Can you add a box to click if someone wants to know that there was a response to their comment?)

Oh thank you! The “notify me of follow-up comments via e-mail” is back.
Now I won’t miss replies until the next time I happen to visit “in person.”

Lisa,
We aim to please LOL. I never can keep track of where I commented and
when either. Old school method here ha ha I subscribe to everyones
comment rss feeds. This new feature is kind of cool.
I had to redo the theme comments php to get threaded, gravatars, and
reply to features working as it is not a modern theme. I forgot the notify
deal and probably would have not noticed for quite awhile. So glad you
said something.
