Well I managed to to get the college site to let me register for the PE class.
Since my email addy changed since I last attended a Los Rios Community College (1997) I was asked to fill out a new application – ok, no big deal. Then after logging in to their system it just kept throwing me into a circle where I would click on register, get sent back to the first screen, re enter, back to first screen – AUGH! So KRP and I drove down to the school and tried to explain. They peeps there decided that since it was an adaptive PE class that I needed to go to the disabled students trailer and talk to them.
We navigated across campus detoured by construction fences and stairways and ended up at the portable building. The lady at the desk looked at us like we had two heads. After KRP politely insisted on finding an answer the woman looked up my records. Although it took her 30mins to figure out the problem I give her an A for persistence but you would think that the person at the desk in at the disabled students resource trailer would have a clue what adaptive PE was and that just cause you look fine does not mean you are LOL.
I guess filling out the new application confused their computer program and it moved me from returning student classification to that of a new student. Since I had recorded units err augh I was not a new student so the the system rather than telling me that put me into limbo. The next day it finally showed me a date and time I would be able to register for classes ( umm huh ). That is at least the explanation I think we got.
So I logged in again and signed up for the class. I then made the mistake of going to the Solano system and tried to few my credits there LOL it says if you have been a student there since 1978 (my last classes there were in 1982) you can look up your student number and view your unofficial transcript – yeah right – according to them I have never been a student there – so guess I will have to to storage and find my hard copies . … cause I am so not driving there . …
So glad I got certificates when I went to Chico and Yuba’s summer science enrichment program. I was still in High School so I chose the Certificate rather than college units – so glad I have not lost my High School diploma goodness knows what proving that one would be like so many years later!
