It has been a very bloody weekend here in the Sacramento area. It is really easy for some folks to view the news blips and come up with a simple or denial based explanation. Well of course if you choose to live in such a crappy area what do you expect or hey if those folks had just done such and such ( meaning not the right thing like them) the list goes on and on I bet. How do you explain it away?
It has started irritating the heck out of me watching, reading, bombarded by concern for the poor people living in (fill in any country) while we have so many problems in our own. I am getting cynical – why get all worked up over other political strife of another Nation and not your own? I have yet to see any of them worried about my state of affairs. Sorry about your troubles over there. I do get that the world is changing but I am not sure the hope many see is reality. I know it is not my reality. While you bleed your heart for them remember some of them want to kill us.
I feel like I have gotten screwed for doing the right thing too many times. Did we go buy a house in a safe neighborhood and get out of here soon enough? No, we chose NOT to over extend ourselves with a mortgage in a market that was over inflated. Reward for trying to be prudent – we are stuck in hell in one of the cities ” hot spots” where it is never quite, someone is always screaming, fighting, shooting, surrounded by terrorists. While the folks who did make the wrong financial choice are rewarded with 1% loan bailouts etc. Go figure.
Why are the first suggested budget cuts always the elderly and the disabled? Why not cut welfare for those who have never worked a day in their life? Social Security Disability and Social Security were a contract I thought like insurance the gov’t takes it out of your check and this was suppose to cover us if we got sick or injured and could no longer work or so when we were old and unable . … oh hail to the mighty who have never ever worked and are third generation of welfare God forbid cuts there! So much for a temporary help for single moms . …
I would insert a video here of what went on around here last night but it is obvious where the camera was and I so do not need any more lip or bullet service from the terrorists around here. Read we are afraid. No not afraid of what you might do to me but a fear that you have turned me into you.

My brief encounters living in sketchy places (not as bad as what you mention) make me grateful for not being in the middle of that and pissed off for how most people don’t get how bad it is. And, for always figuring a way to blame it on the wrong parties or place all the blame in one spot.
So, the password thingy is for those in the know? Or we’re supposed to guess?

In 1982 when we moved in we were considered way out there because it was the last main exit off the freeway. now it is just another exit along the way. Dont know if that made sense?
Then the gangs and other crime related elements moved this direction also. Because of slump in home sales many blocks were re zoned / converted to apartments. Are nice condo/townhouses became surrounded.
I have been looking through the video and I found one section that kind of says it all but does not identify anyone. Maybe I will post – have not decided.
Trying to pay off the credit cards with income from SSDI means it is taking years instead of months LOL so much for that one. I am guilty of not thinking something this bad was gonna “get me” – ahh the normal state of mind instead of the one of the unlucky.
And the password thing is an experiment and really has nothing special there. Other than your the only one who asked.
think Lost In Space – although the effort will not bring any great revelations.

I perused imdb for Lost in Space for password ideas. Haven’t hit the jackpot yet — although not sure about case. Although from what you say there’s nothing in there anyway. Thought it would be fun to try.
Man, housing issues. So, easy to get stuck. I’m stuck in the opposite way. I resisted settling for a long time. However, I’d planned to buy about ten years ago before housing got out of control. But was in a relationship and we kept thinking we’d move in or something. Bad idea to wait based on a relationship. Then I went back to school. Finally, I just bit the bullet about four years ago and bought not at the peak but dang close. Thought I just needed to really settle down and would bang away at the mortgage.
I’m really fortunate that I bought up on the LTD from my company. So, I can swing it financially but can’t really get out of it. It’s worth so much less than what I bought it for and a fair amount less than what I owe. People are short-selling right and left in my town; it’s hard to figure out what real market value is.
I’d like to move closer to family just to be with them and also so they can help me out. It’s getting harder to always ask friends for help. And, I live on the second floor. Some days the stairs aren’t a big deal and other days, well, it ain’t pretty and it sure feels like climbing a mountain.
Gads, Jan, I didn’t mean to hijack your post/comments. But, yeah, housing stuckness. I’m sorry that your home, not house or condo, but home has been so infringed upon.
Oh, and I think you’re wise to pause about the video.

The housing deal sure has many of us in a messy situation. I wonder if those of us challenged by other considerations like a disability get hit harder?
I mean the constant turmoil around here sends my nerves into over drive. Stuck in a two level townhouse has me dreading the stairs so if upstairs I tend to stay there and vic versa.
I can imaging having to make it up stairs just to get to the front door is a real sucko deal.
hyjack? naw I love comments.

Yeah, like people who live in the projects are there because they like the neighborhood. Duh. There is a reason they call a bad neighborhood a Bad Neighborhood.
Our neighborhood in Lansing frequently had streets blocked off to cut down on drug deals, and we still had people pounding on our door in the middle of the night, looking to buy drugs. Nice place. Ironically, 15 years later (now that we no longer live there), it’s the trendy part of town. Go figure.

Yes we bought here knowing we would end up in a project like area. I was born to be bad LOL LOL seriously I really feel sorry for the families with kids that bought a townhouse or house in the area – big decisions there – walk and loose your credit and home – stay and all the what if’s concerning their kids safety.
