I Need Feathers

two geese flying awayBurrrr, seriously should’nt the weather allow for adjustment? Just a few weeks ago we were doing 80’s now wake up to the 30’s – not fair LOL.

Before all you snow folks tell me what a wimp I am – I will admitt it right off. The hot always bothers me but usually the cold weather does not. Except – when it changes fast and does not let me adjust. Ok, I know put on a coat!

After class I had to meet the insurance lady at Starbucks to pick up the check for the tires. Since I was already 1/4 of the way to the wildlife refuge and I had my camera with me I decided to head out there.

Lots of geese flying around. Lots of cold wind – did I mention burrrr? Is this why feather stuffed comforters are warm -the birds  do not look cold to me .

I took about 20 shots before I felt like a Popsicle – my bad since once I arrived I discovered that I only had a sweat shirt and no coat. Burrrr …..

I  converted a few of the shots from NEF to jpeg before getting frustrated with the keyboard. I think I did better than last time because at least you can tell they are birds. I broke down and shot in manual and shutter priority.  Shutter priority umm – kind of makes it a bit easier.

Maybe I can find some frost tommorrow if I get up and brave the cold early in the morning – I am thinking Not! But I never know.

Mr. Catfish is still wondering if I am going to get the cam off him and set up in the carport. 100ft of cable to run and still have to figure out the best method to bring it into the inside. Do not want the walls to leak now do we?

Though The Trees

sunset coming through the tree leavesI spent most yesterday pissed off. They slashed more tires in the hood going down the street we saw another 6 vehicles with two or three flats. I hope they catch these fools soon.

It was a windy and rainy day. I did get out an tried to catch the sunset light rays as they made the tree leaves look almost translucent.

I probably should have used the tripod as when I looked up the wind would cause me to tilt and then I started getting kind of dizzy.  Leaves whipping around in the wind swirling all around me – yes, Winter weather has come early.

Last night I became facinated with all the webcams that CalTrans has.  Interstate 80 was closed from from Applegate to the Nevada/Calif state line.  Looking at the Hwy with no traffic and watching the snow fall – I have no idea why this amused me so?  It usually does not snow like this and as low an elevation as it did this early in the season. Glad I have power and not snowed in.

I am such a valley whimp.

I bougth a little security camera on sale.  It came with 100ft of cable. So even if the  camera sucks the price was worth the cable alone.  When the weather calms down I will need to figure out where to mount it so that it captures the carport.  It hopefully will save me from going outside in my jammies to check on ever little noise. The area is the only one we can not see from any window or peep hole. Then I will have to route the cable and figure out where to have it enter the upstairs.

Then I will move onto coputer cards so I can store the video on a drive.

Systems are just to dang expensive so I figure why not try to create my own?

Right now I have the camera working via the television and watching Catfish sleep – sigh. I might just end up watching the trees if I can not get it mounted somewhere LOL

Tired

Well there yah go.  One of the outstanding shhhheeee it heads in our wonderful neighborhood decideded that we so did not need our brand new tires anymore!

They tore through the complex armed with a knife and slashed quit a few along their path.

I ask you is that not special?

It took a week to locate a set in stock for this car so hope we can find replacements soon. They were just purchased in Sept. so hopefully …

Here we have the shots for insurance – yeah it is like Fried Green Tomato’s TWANDA – we have insurance. So, although coming up with the bucks to replace the tires is a royal pain with zero deductable we will get it back. Now if the tow truck gets here before the dealer closes, if the tires that match can be located

Now what in the F is wrong with these scum buckets – too much time on their hands?  Many say they have been abused, raised wrong, discriminated against etc. – me I think they are just evil little punks and I hope they get their just rewards – here or in the ever after.  Seriously,  so far this month they have lit a empty house on fire, broken windows, slashed tires, and shot off a few shots. You will never convince me that I should feel sorry for them.  My bleeding heart days are over.

Ok rant almost over.

So now to file an online Police report, call the insurance, and borrow a vehicle so KRP can go to work and I can go to school.

Added Photo Album

Narrowing the selection to those I can figure out how to use and how many validation errors they throw I am trying the flickr gallery plugin. It only throws 2 errors. Who knows, maybe I can figure out how to fix em? Yeah right!

There are some awesome plugins out there but they require to much setup for me and my foggy mind. I do not wish to upload the photos to my server nor do I want to pay for another/better online service. I already pay (although a small amount) for a flickr account.
