Lazy Dog Day
I gotta get out and do something , anything LOL. My eye is back to “normal” whatever that might be ha ha ..
Maybe I will get out and take some pics? emmmm … Catfish and Annie are not excited about impromptu canine posing today. They are in a couch potato mood today.
So, the first pics I have shot in awhile:
I so need to get out!
The Hunt for Orange
The photo group’s challenge this week is the color orange.
Here I was trying to find orange using yellow and red gels.
Depending on your monitor set up – it is there. That is another problem when viewing others images, sometimes they just look brown to me. Both monitors show exactly the same colors so I am thinking when the producer of the image processed it their color correction was off or my computers both show the wrong thing – ummm.
But the carrot pieces above look orange to me and on the shot with a tad more exposure the pic on the screen looks like the pieces of the carrot. Maybe if I print it I will know for sure.
Meanwhile – off on my hunt for orange
Long Time
It has been awhile since I have given this blog attention. Part of me misses the friends that I have met in the process of blogging. The other part is suffering a mind block – like it has dawned on me that I have nothing much to blog about.
So for the time being, in hopes that some of you still check in now and then, I will just post of few pics of what I have been doing.
The above is a picture of what we call the tipping rock that does not tip. It is located in Truckee, Ca and is most likely a glacial formation. The plaque states that it also could be a man made alter. It once was balanced so well that it would rock with the touch of a finger. It no longer rocks, hence the name we have for it.
The above reflection of myself was taken today while standing in the rain at the Kite Festival in Elk Grove. Notice my high tech water resistant cover. It never ceases to amaze me how many uses a gallon zip lock baggy has. I read about this somewhere and before leaving the house this morning grabbed a few baggies and rubber bands I have saved off the broccoli bunche. It worked out nice as others camera’s were getting wet also.
My next experiments will more than likely involve the use of a flash. Yes, I finally purchased an SB800! Now I am no longer at the mercy of ambient light nor will I end up with the dreaded circle of darkness made when the built in flash will not pass the long lens. Yipee!
The other quest I have been involved in is one to purchase a boat. I am not picky really, or so I thought. I just want one that is advertised in good shape to at least start and have no leaks. Umm one would think that might be an easy task – to find a boat that runs and does not leak – wrong! In the used boat world my junk is another’s valuable vessel. I have lowered my expectations and standards a bit.
Since I have to give up riding I thought a fishing boat would be a good recreational deal. I have always loved fishing and now days it is harder and harder to find bank space. Either the farmers have tired from the garbage and abuse by people they allowed access to their property or the local regulations prohibit access – oh either way it is harder and harder to gain access to fishing areas. The old spots are now over run with idiots – scary ones sometimes. Read: my rationalization for getting a boat LOL.
Well that will be it for now.
