Fussy Feed Fest

apps_errorI am sure you have noticed a new theme around here. Between SBcee/YaWHOOO web hosting not allow writing to the htacess file and the last them having no support for anything built into it, I decided to change.

I should have known better, really, everytime I do this it ends up with me scratching my head and going ugh???

So far the theme itself is working but the rss feed is not doing it’s thing. The main post rss feed here is showing the big red “X”. I have read that it just may do that until I write a new post. Not exactly what I was planning on doing right now. I want to play with the theme a little.

I still am thinking of moving the domain to a different provider that allows a tad more control over things that SBcee/YaWHOOO peeps. Ever since they made us change over to the new package ithas been interesting to say the least. This site can not even use the pretty peramlinks cuase they won’t allow writing to the htacess. The positive thing is I have not been hac ke d lately – oh please not an invitation to do so.

Just Plugging Along

Nothing exciting, worthy really of a post going on around here. I made it to Borders yesterday and picked up some new reading material. I used my AARP card and received 10% off all paperbacks, a coupon for 20% off one book, and found two books in the buy one get one free display. Now all I have to do is read them.

The stove search is still going.  I friend that has a business distributing appliances amongst other things has come to the rescue and is offering us some good deals. We might end up with a more expensive model for less dollars than the basic models. Woo hoo.  Never underestimate the value of having a working range. Micro/convection oven cooking only sucks.

I am still checking out different themes for this blog.  I want one that I can customize the look of yet has support for the latest plugins that make blogging easier.  There is sort of a middle wasteland. Either you get all the bling or you get plain with less built in support ( so you have to add all the codes) to get stuff to work. I now realize my days of wanting to add php code and calls is over.  WordPress 2.7 sent my old theme into fits LOL.  Right now I am looking at white-space. Yep, make the typography easier to read and navagation easier for us cognitively challenged.

So what do you think? I am modifying the css on the theme Get Some by A WordPress Hacker. If you like looking at theme ideas his web site theme is cool.  It is worth checking out if you like looking at different presentations.  I am not the best with css and his is layed out and easy to customize – and it is free – cool no?

Themes that go Snap

Obviously,  to those of you who view this site every once in awhile the new theme is gone. It displayed odd in IE and I spent too much time trying to figure out why the recent comments would not align correctly in the container.  Odd it is that I never found a site, including the theme authors, that displayed recent comments. Umm I think that is a clue … oh snap !

I am hoping that this theme will work out.  From dark to light blog goes. I sort of like the cleanness of it.

I hope to decide on a color scheme soon.  I am partial to the bright greens, my favoite color is blue, but I am leaning towards red? Or, maybe an orange shade. Decisions, decisions, . …

Oh yeah check out the search feature and tell me what you think of it.  I like playing with the blog and content tabs and then looking at the results of the “whats the connection” link – very cool to me.  How about you?
