I am A Snow Flake

I am a snowflake yes I am. No two snow flakes are the same just as no two people’s  MS is the same either.

Just a super thought I came away with tonight after hearing Dr Dunn speak at a presentation sponsored oh gasp by a drug company LOL.

We drove to Stockton and met our friend (another MS’r) at the motel where it was held. Usually these presentations are obvious drug pushing orientated this one was very tame in that dept.

Dr Dunn comes with strong credentials and spoke mostley about why it was so hard to find a cure for MS and what he felt worked and what did not. IE mice probably not much help when it comes to research – that humans will be where the cure is found – well I thought to myself DUH.

The most interesting part was some of the new research that will be going on a Stanford U. Their site is down right now so maybe I will link and explain it laters. But the research will be looking at human blood, as soon as it is ready to go I am there I will give em all they want and then some.  Maybe the immune suppressing stuff just is not where it is at not that I am an expert or something but I have never logically felt that it was gonna be in the end – but guess ya never know. A new one for me to research: proteomic analysis.

Anyways, I like the snow flake analogy so there it is. Coolness of the good kind. Here in Sac we dont really get very many presentations that offer the opportunity to learn and ask questions of some of the nations top MS Dr.’s unless they are sponsored by the drug companies –  yes they have the money to do so – I think that kind of sucks that drug companies akin to the evil empire are they ones who provide the opportunities around this area. The big society sure does not unless you head for the bay area. . …

Not Much

IMGP0784_2007_01_01_19_06_15Band WGosh it has been so down right boring around here and I tend to be lazy any way I have not written anything on the blog in a week. Opps.

This evening we attended a birthday party and oinked out on the great food. Lucio and Cruz where fast at work cooking away all night. Pineapple tacos were my favorite tonight. I ate seven of them and not little ones mind ya! Told yah OINK.

I am making progress in the Fallout 3 game, finished a few more books ( reminds me I need to enter them on the Library Thing), and played around making ring tones for the phones.

Darn, my life really is rather boring . …

Cell Phone Madness

DSC_1827So for all it may be worth in the blog about something category – KRP lost her cell phone the other night. Not that big of a deal on the whole except – yeah always one of those eh – it started a sort of  disagreement right off the get go.

The phone was lost in a really bad neighborhood and as we were leaving after diner the ladies of the night and the drug seekers were already walking the street. No way I was going back there.

This is where I truly believe I am always made wrong or brushed off because we all know that my little MS mind does not work right. Round and round we go with me trying to get her to believe me that there is no way in the double tooth pick place the phone will still be there and it is nuts to go there in the first place so just in case CALL the phone service and have the phone deactivated – turn it back on if you actually find it or miracles of miracles someone actually returns it.

Nope I am being silly, negative etc. so she talks Lucio into meeting her and going back and look for the phone. I once again say CALL and have it deactivated and if you find it then call them back and reactivate it. NO go. Now as you probably have deduced by now that she did not find the phone and emm someone used it before she CALLED and deactivated it.  Kind of a fun paper trail because all the number it called belonged to other stolen phones.

Sometimes hoping for the best but planning on the worst is a good plan I think. Especially when the phone was lost in one of the highest crime areas around the south area of town.

The good part of all this is since my account as not been renewed in a long time contract wise we got new phones for free if you call having to redo the contract for two more years free and we still have one more free one coming but hopefully we don’t need to use it. I like my new phone now that I have figured out how to turn it off and on and unlock it.

It has a touch screen and it so much easier for me to enter phone numbers and names. I got lots of practice because all the contacts did not tranfer over to the new one.  KRP and the other hand had no backup whatsoever because she decided I would be wasting money if I gave the phone company 1.99 to backup your contacts (yes they charge for this now) and she lost all her contact numbers LOL LOL – well after the brouhaha where I was actually called over re actively negative I find some satisfaction in listening to her enter number after number while the keypad locks every 15 seconds ha ha I know how to set it to stay unlocked longer but hey what do I know!

I am happily loading new ring tones and wallpaper and setting my contact ring tones and ID pics – I did print out the last two months of cell activity so KRP could find her numbers . ..

Heard from downstairs:  to heck with it if they can’t be bothered to call me what do I need their numbers in here for anyways.

UPDATE: $16,577,118. no matter how you personally feel about all the hype over this and talk of personal accountability – no amount of $ can bring someone back, in my humble opinion . …

In about 20 mins my friends will be sitting in a court room. The verdict will be read. I can only hope that the outcome is good. Over two years – almost three – a long time yet it has passed.

I hope they win and the settlement just.
Nothing of course will negate the pain of loss they endure each and everyday.
