The End of the Day
Poor Catfish. He looks so pathetic here. This is a hint that I should not be playing on the computer but heading to bed .
I have taken apart the computer that was given to me. All it does is repeat beep, beep, beep, beep, well you get the picture. The motherboard is probably toast, so I am having fun playing with it.
Catfish was so helpful. He snuck off with my screwdriver.
Surveillance. What’s Next?
I am old enough to remember walking down the street, shopping, going to library, talking on the phone, and eating out without being under some sort of surveillance. Now, when at a public restroom I find myself wondering if someone is watching me. Stores monitoring for shoplifters or a governmental agency obtaining permission to tap the phone lines of known criminals appear nondetrimental.
Scanning fans faces at a Super Bowl as they passed through the entrance and checking the images against a database for wanted criminals primed the public on the capabilities of video monitoring. Tiananmen Square cameras used to identify and arrest demonstrators prove that cameras are used for purposes other than they were originally intended.
The FISA US CODE Info. courts allow for immediate implementation of wiretaps without court orders as long as such requests are cleared by the FISA courts within 72 hours after they have been placed.. It seems that our Executive Branch has decided to do what they want. Like video surveillance, I now wonder, who is listening to me. Currently the wiretaps are hopefully being used predominately to monitor terrorist activities. Remember this may not always be so.
I also need to point out, if the governments automated systems software can still only provide the most general markers for them to monitor electronic transmissions (chatter), that this post may be monitored.
First Blog Spamoid was From
I will not give the sites name because that would increase there google power. The first spam this site recieved was from an organization that promotes hate. I am glad they are using their freedom of speech via print but the links they sent were purely anti something pro something if you can get the drift. Anyway at least I got something LOL
I was hoping that my online friends would post here or at least suggest a topic they would like to discuss. O well. Figuring out the world of blogging is kind of fun.
I spent most of today watching the news, playing with my dogs, and reading about WordPress and PHP. It was foggy this morning and I never really became motivated enough to venture outside.
Ate the chicken soup I made yesterday and now I am ready to eat again, get a book, and fall asleep. Catfish is in playing with his stuffed toy “duck” and Annie is downstairs ever hopeful that someone will throw her ball.
