Yah, mostly just for the humor of it all but it really was kind of a bummer because they do not make them anymore and new ones have to be bought and put on.

I don’t really like change LOL and humom swears sometimes when trying to do stuff!

Maybe I can find her some with dog paws on emm

Yeah, like when my first gel wheelchair cushion began to leak, therefore biting the dust. Or when I had to replace my first pair of crutch tips. Those porcies look like they might make good walker handles. See, I have this walker that stays outside my back door because I don’t like it; so I just use it on the patio in the summer. Anyway, one foam handle grip sticks out from under the eave and gets wet in the Tacoma rain all Winter long, and it finally died and fell off a couple weeks ago. SO, I need to replace it with something – maybe porcies! What do you think? PS: I’ve never been into a bike shop; it will be virgin territory for me.

I went to the bike shop with mom once – lots of racks full of stuff that looked kind of interesting as prospective dog chews.

Mom fell into the rack of seat bags and we had to play 50 bag and hanger hook pick up geezzz my furry little self was so embarrassed!

Catfish! How nice of you to reminisce, telling stories on your humom, but you didn’t answer my question. Do ya think Fred Meyer might carry these porcupine thingies? What is their diameter?

    • The best I can tell measuring the inner diameter of the grip the measurement is 22.2mm.

Grips with end caps come in many thicknesses and most common lengths are 90mm, 120mm and 130mm.
Some come with molded in ends and other have plugs for the ends. They come in different thicknesses also.

Price per pair start around 4 bucks and go on up and up and up LOL Average around 9 bucks.

The closest to the porcupine grips (no longer made) are called Lizard Skins Moab grips I am going to order a set and try them out. Right now I used Bontrager grips. The rubber they use in these grips is more cushy and last longer than the cheaper ones that you might remember from the old cruisers like the one speed schwinn’s.

The foam grips do not last that long on bikes either. A good bicycle shop will have several types of grips in stock and have helpful folks there. A bad one well …. leave! REI carries them.

      Hope that helps.

  3. Oh the nostalgia and memory wrapped up into things that have been on lots of journeys with us. Yeah, I know that. I have that feeling for my favorite coffee cup that I bought from an eccentric artistic living in the woods in Alaska about 20 years ago. I’ve hunkered over that thing pondering the shifts and turns in life’s road. If it ever breaks, I’m making something artsy from it.

The USPS. I had an issue with them a couple years ago. I could not find any official issue resolution/tracking process — they keep it all verbal. It appeared that they’re pretty well protected from any accountability from what I could tell.

    • Knowledge of your coffee cup requires a request for a photo of it in a post sometime! Just do not break it is posing for it modeling debut – what say you?

The USPS really does seem to be immune from any accountability.

We did go to the main office for our area more on that in a post but so far we might have success??
