Please stop

Oh please, spare me from the Black Eyed Peas!

Am I the only one that wants to get up and move the needle that is stuck on a track?

Repetition -and I still am to dang old to understand what the heck they are – and I use the word loosely – singing?

Pump it up? Naw pump it down PLEASE

  1. ha! i don’t care for their music…. but individually they all have so much great talent…just a shame they use it in this way ha! not my type of music….

got excited when Slash showed up but was quickly let down….

the only redeeming quality in this 1/2 time show was the dancing, lights, and overall display… pretty cool

  2. Are you sure that tonight’s not gonna be a good night? Or was rather a good halftime? Interesting mix of performers I suppose. But your post made me laugh out loud and I HAD to read it here to those in the living room. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hubbers was watching the game in the next room. the Black Eyed Peas came on…I said, “what the heck is that noise?” Answer…”I dunno, some pea people, man we must be getting old because they are awful!”

    • Probably is our age showing then again it might be our refined taste in music? LOL I dunno. I was still thinking about the biffed National Anthem . …

  4. I didn’t watch it. But I saw the commercials on Yahoo – Liked the beaver and the young Darth Vader – and was embarrassed at how Cristina Aguilera totally botched the national anthem. Hell, I don’t even know who won (like I care.) I am so not a sports fan.

    What’s your E-mail?

    • The commercials had us all giggling. The National Anthem is a hard tune to sing but . … well kind of sad that she biffed it.
You can use the email button up top and I usually get it but I shall email you my email.

I am a wish-y washy sports fan except for NASCAR vroommmmmm …. I love watching cars going in circles LOL

      • webster

Oh, BTW, I like the Black Eyed Peas, and I AM an old fogey. “Tonight’s gonna be a good night…” ,,, what’s not to like about that?

        • I was thinking of saying no accounting for taste but LOL each to there own! My likes must be tainted from years of listening to Classical (my folks) and opera (my Grandfather). Seriously, I like many genre’s but obviously not the Black Eyed Peas . …

  5. I was going to respond with, “Huh?” I was guessing you had some neighbors playing the music too loud!

But the comments filled me in that this was about The Game — that thing over which I’m profoundly ignorant. Although I always think it’s informative to see what company’s pony up the bucks for the commercials.

Wow, just YouTubed the anthem being sung by Christina — ack!

    • I am torn between the anthem is a hard song to sing and Christina having nerves AND it is our National Anthem how embarrassing not to get it correctly sung.

      Ack works.

  6. Well, Jan, welcome to old-fart-hood! Complaining about the noise those young kids listen to!

I’m not much of a sports fan, so this is the first I’ve heard of the fluffing of the national anthem. It’s not a user-friendly tune, but this is someone who does this for a living, no? When Rowan was in high school, one of the girls on the wrestling team would start off the home meets by singing the national anthem a cappella. She always knocked it out of the park, so to speak. And she was pretty good wrestler, too!

    • yaw I know many kids that can belt it out acappella and not flub it. It is sad that she biffed it really it is. I can even sing it correctly – just kind of second nature. Like saying the Pledge of Allegiance – only I learned it with the under God part so I end up playing catch up to get to the indivisible – as I learned the 1954 President Dwight D. Eisenhower version. I forget it was changed.

I am an old fart in many ways I guess . … I even know the story behind the National Anthem . …
