Life has settled down into a comfortable routine – at least for now.
When I was younger and in school the words Spring Break brought shouts of joy – woo hoo no class! Now it kind of bummed me a bit as I actually like going to the PE class.
Picked up some more exercise equipment and contemplating the walking not so good versus the riding.
Not wanting to type and remember how to spell all the words –
The video for today (well yesterday technically) sorry about the hiss etc but I forgot to turn off the xp machine and it has a very very loud fan.
Today was a good day all and all 😀 . We did not get a lot of sleep last night because the noise level on Friday and Saturday nights is set on “loud”. The helicopter was buzzing around midnight looking for someone who fled after a vehicle pursuit. So we had the sirens of the chase and then the bird in the air making announcements every so often – oh happy joy joy.
I loaded up the bike and headed away from here. Parked at my friends home and headed out from there. I found a few muddy areas that were not posted no trespassing – I ask you how can I turn my wheels away from perfectly good fields full of mud?
The new tires totally SUCK in the mud. No bite the back wheel kind of spins like a truck when mired in the mud – round and round with very little progress. I did not ride far through the fields as the energy cranking through the slop with the tires spinning wore me out fast! Put life is good. It has been along time since I have had to carefully sneak the Bat Bike upstairs after knocking off clumps of mud. I like to let it dry out, shake what I can off and then go for the cleaning. I am lazy at heart I guess. Put when it is dry I can vacuum it off with a brush first and then clean the chain etc.
Snapped a few shots with the cell phone (click on pics to see larger) after I got back to my friends.
The past few days has been full of USPS BS, lots of helicopter noise, a few shots going off outside on the street in front of our living room window, and – well I guess the usual.
Today I called the supervisor at the USPS branch as asked. We had a short nice conversation she said she had talked to the carrier and our mail would be delivered and I promised to check the box more often. I hung up and went out to the box to get the mail. Guess what?
Ok I will tell you our box was full of someone elses mail – only one piece a junk mailer for a drug store was addressed to us. WTF!! Augh! So I called back and nicely – yes I was very nice at this point – well any way I explained we had a box full of the mail addressed to another unit – that so happens to be empty and none of our own mail. Now I am thinking this kind of proves my point that it was another unit empty and the dude messed up right? Wrong. I got transferred to another supervisor, had to explain the whole deal all over again. This supervisor so could not grasp that hello – you all made a mistake not us.
I was doing Ok until she said well, that is all past. HUH? No you don’t understand the wrong mail came today – I got no mail today – where is my mail? Answer – I don’t know. So what box did my mail go into or did you send it back again? I dunno. Oh for goodness sakes. She then again says well this all past and we are working . .. I said No it is today where is my MAIL!!! Oh I won’t know until I talk with the carrier tomorrow. I will try and find where the problem is. I said it is in the difference of one number xxx1 an xxx2!
Then I asked her to put a 10 day vacation hold on all our mail and we would pick it up there. She refused because guess what she knows we are not on vacation! I very rudely said – well since you don’t think we live here anyways whats the difference – umm the line got disconnected and they closed in one minute so they did not pick up when I called back.
So we are getting up early and will be at the main office door across town when they open. So I can turn in the mail that is not mine and find someone higher up who might agree that it is not a good thing that our mail is lost again in who knows whoms box and the folks that moved two months ago sure are not getting their mail either LOL this is past the point of finding any humor in.
Well on the lighter side here is a video on the death of my red porcupines (not live animals ok) . Curious? Here is the video:
I have been playing with different video programs trying to find one that is:
A) I can figure out how to use
B) renders in HD
C) not to dang expensive
I might have decided on one but I am going to use it till the free trial expires to make sure.
Here is a short video with the sound UP. I used a clip of the bike gears, rendered two skydive videos off old VHS tapes, and blurred my face out on one from my webcam. If you watch them via youtube in full screen and select HD I you can see the quality and let me know how the sound and video is.
